A logo and brand identity project for an Italian restaurant in the heart of Querétaro. Sotto Ristorante is where Italian heritage meets Mexican contemporary culture.

Sotto does not pretend to be an Italian “trattoria”. It is a contemporary restaurant based on traditional Italian cuisine.

Warmth, spontaneity and that Italian “tutto bene” are the foundation of this new space that doesn’t pretend anything other than offer you good food and a good time.

The logo is inspired by the story of the foundation of Rome and the she-wolf that rescued and fed twin brothers Rómulo and Remo. Even though the icon references the Italian legend, it is illustrated in a rough linocut inspired style that is grounded in Mexican culture and is drawn in the form of an “alebrije”.
